Avonside Energy carries out energy assessments in the Industrial, Office, Retail and Leisure sectors.

Commercial EPCs (also referred to as Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificates) are required for the sale or let of commercial premises under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2002 of the European Parliament.

  • This Legislation requires that the EPC is available at the point of initial marketing.
  • We will advise as to when a Commercial EPC is required, and under which circumstances.
  • We can also help clients interpret the guidelines issued by the DCLG on EPCs for mixed use buildings.
  • Avonside Energy’s EPCs include an advisory report on the various energy saving measures that may be undertaken in order to help reduce overheads and potentially increase the market appeal of property assets.

We are also contacted by existing occupiers who are not ready to initiate relocation but who wish to learn more about the energy performance of their premises. There is no legal requirement for companies to obtain an EPC unless they are about to sell or let business space. However, commissioning an EPC is an excellent first step to driving down energy bills in commercial premises.

‘I will use my experience in PR to maximise any client brand promotion opportunities that may arise from highlighting that your company is operating from an energy efficient building. Such initiatives can help gain an edge over competitors as the Climate Change agenda gathers pace.’
